Helen Green has been a teacher for 18 years. Following her training and teaching in the UK, she spent over a decade at Jumeirah Primary School in Dubai, before moving to Hartland International School, Dubai. With first-hand experience as the parent of a child identified as gifted, and a longstanding interest in the field of gifted and talented education, she has attended many courses to develop her understanding of the field and in turn has enjoyed delivering professional development courses to teachers across Dubai to develop more able provision. In April 2019, she successfully led Hartland International School to becoming the first school in the Middle East, and the third outside the UK, to gain the NACE (National Association for Able Children in Education) Challenge Award. She was instrumental in developing the mini enrichment league, which offers challenge competitions across schools in Dubai. Her passion is in questioning students and encouraging them to think deeply and challenge themselves across not only the core subjects, but also current issues in our ever changing world. Since leaving the UAE in 2019, Helen has worked as an educational consultant and also offers a virtual platform providing online group sessions in a variety of areas to challenge and support highly able students. She believes in a positive mindset, creating partnerships with purpose and striving for significant outcomes.
